"

ThanksAre you getting this error after you have installed Visual Studio .net
Please check that all service packs are installed on you system

Which OS you are using?

If you are using win 2003 get the latest patches
Yes, im getting this error after installing Visual Studio .net

I hope you can guide me here, what would you consider ALL service packs?

im running Windows XP Pro Operating System.

So is it a Windows XP problem or a Visual Studio .Net problem?

Do you have the links to download the patches?

It occasionally shuts down my pc while im trying to develop my web application.

Thanks for ur swift reply. Hopefully you can help me out here.
You can open the C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini043004-01.dmp file in Notepad. What does it say?
okies, but i have already deleted the whole bunch of them.

Will try to open and see the contents when i hit this problem again.

Its worrying me cos it will always reboot my comp and im afraid it will damage my pc.

Thanks for the feedback, will keep you updated if i managed to view the contents of the minidump files.

Appreciate your reply.

i am facing a problem in creating virtual direcotry..

i have .net framework 1.1 already installed on my pc (XP)... and there are application which are running fine... developed in framework 1.1...

i installed .net framwork 2.0 and created a new virtual directry ...

but it gives me error as "Server Application Unavailable" error...

any body having any idea ??

right click ur defaultwebsite node in IIS properties
then choos Asp.net tab, make sure that Asp.net version is 2.0

HTH

If you have an application written in .net framework 1.1 and you have installed the .net framework 2.0, just make sure that the default .net version for that application is correct (1.1 in this case)

Follow the above poster steps to go check the application ASP.NET version.

HC

version is already 2.0 (i have checked it).

i have checked the versions for all application...

and are correctly selected...

is there any other setting that i am missing out ?

try to run aspnet_regiis.exe -i

HTH

ok...

aspnet_regiis -i option will install asp.net components to my system..

but does it effect to my existing uploaded applications based on framework 1.1 ?

no it wont affect them, when u want to run 1.1 application, choose in IIS framework 1.1 the same way as i told u in my previous post

thanks friend..

it works... but with slight change...

aspnet_regiis -iru

details:

aspnet_regiis -i will install asp.net components and scriptmaps as well as update scriptmaps of all EXISTING UPLOADED APPLICATION in IIS.

aspnet_regiis -iru will install asp.net components and scriptmaps but it does not update scriptmaps of all EXISTING UPLOADED APPLICATION in IIS.

Well (like it says in the message), could you post the information from the eventlog?

That will probably give you a hint of whats wrong.

I have the same configuration.
Well, they can coexist, try to restart the IIS and use the (regiis -i) from the command line in the 2.0 Framework directory.
Tell us then what happens.

server application unavailable

hi all,

I have asp.net vs 1.0 and xp installed on my machine.i have created a page where i m executing the queries and binding the results to the datagrid.

It runs fine if the query doesnt take much time to execute..the results are displayed in the datagrid but if the query takes much time then i get a error "Server application unavailable".

I searched the internet also for this..i found a fix for this which is applicable to the vs 1.0 and windows xp but even after that the problem is same.

any help on this pls??

HI there,
Please check the following link
http://www.extremeexperts.com/Net/FAQ/ServerApplicationUnavailable.aspx
Hope this helps

Thanks i tried everything but the problem is the same ...so i thinking that i would uninstall the 1.0 framework and install 1.1 Want to know from u all that is that ok??

hi all,

I have tried that also.Actually i just made a test page in which i m executing the sql queries and then binding the results to a datagrid.

so when the resultset is small its works fine but when i m pulling data like over 30MB.It displays that server application unavlaible. When i view the event log it says

aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 1880) was recycled because memory consumption exceeded the 151 MB (60 percent of available RAM).

I have searched internet also for this but of no use.Is there any setting in the machine.config that i need to set.Any help on this pls??
