Serializable Web Service objects.

Is there a way to make web service objects binary serializable by the clients?
I know the client can reference the service then add the [Serializable] attribute to the reference.cs file where needed, but is there away to have this attribute added automatically when the WSDL file is interogated.I know with remoting which is fairly similar you can add the formatter in the config file. I dare say there's something similar within web services.
